Grilled Sesame Asparagus
Ingredients:
2 Tablespoons soy sauce
2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
2 teaspoons light brown sugar
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 pound asparagus, trimmed
1 Tablespoon sesame oil
1 Tablespoon sesame seeds, toasted (Toast sesame seeds in a dry skillet over medium heat, stirring constantly until golden - about 5 minutes)
Whisk soy sauce, vegetable oil, sugar, garlic, ginger, and pepper flakes in a shallow dish. Add asparagus and toss until coated. Marinate at room temperature for at least 15 minutes or up to 1 hour.
Remove asparagus from dish (do not discard marinade) and grill over hot fire, turning frequesntly, until tender and lightly charred, 4-8 minutes.
Add grilled asparagus to dish with reserved marinade. Add sesame oil and toss until asparagus is well coated. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Serves 4.
