How would you decorate you Easter table if you were having strangers over but also having kids over?

Melizzy - this is a really cute and easy way to decorate your holiday table. Purchase wheat berries in the health/organic section of your market or go to a health food store for these.

Soak the wheat berries overnight -
Drain them & then plant them in some potting soil. For Easter, you can either plant them in one large container (which you can put into a basket later) & then use it as a table centerpiece OR you can purchase inexpensive small clay pots (paint them in pastel Easter colors if you're feeling overly ambitious)

After you've planted the wheat berries, you can expect to see sprouts in about 2-3 days. Water sparingly - but don't let the soil completely dry out. For grass that will grow 3-6 inches by Easter, I'd plant the wheat berries about 10 days before your celebration.

You can put your dyed eggs or even plastic ones in the grass. Add a big, beautiful bow on the basket handle. This will definately WOW all of your guests.

I usually make one large basket of wheat berry grass for my center piece and then carry through with the same theme and make a bunch of the small ones. I write the name of each guest on an egg (hard boiled & dyed, of course), put the egg in the small pot and use it as a place card for dinner and as a favor for guests to bring home. You can also sprinke a few jelly beans or chocolate eggs in the individual pots.

A few tea lights or votives on the table completes the tablescape!!

This is always an unexpected surprise & the kids just love it.

I always find colored eggs and easter baskets make great table decorations. If you want to do individual place settings, try using egg cups and then color the eggs after putting each person's name on it in white crayon.

As a centerpiece, I always buy one of those cheezy lamb cakes in chocolate. I put little candy eggs and grass around it. The kids and the adults love the idea of a black sheep! Hope this helps.

The wheat grass is a wonderful idea and certainly goes along with the idea of Easter as celebrating new life, while the eggs give it a nice touch for the kids as well. If you don't have time to grow the grass, you may want to think about using some short needle pine or magnolia leaves along with some baby's breath and tuck in the eggs here or there.

I love making the table bright with colorful mini eggs and things like that. As far as a centerpiece goes, I get a nice springy flower arrangement adorned with some pastel bow. Then I stick some Easter-y decorations in them (for example, mini bunnies if the flower pot is big enough).

That is true, a festive blend of spring flowers with Easter accents is a great way to dress up a table. This also made me think of a friend who likes to take sections of dogwood in bloom and use them in a clear vase in the middle of her table.

This sounds like it would be a beautiful table. I generally don't worry about whether it will be adults or kids or a mix at the table because some things are universal for any ages. Easter flowers, pastel ribbons, and chocolate eggs/bunnies work well together for all ages.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys! Ironically, after the stove on fire incident, no one wants to come over to my house for dinner any longer!

Welcome to KUNGFU UNIVERSITY - Chinese Kung Fu Teaching,Taichi quan,Shaolin quan! Here you will find what is Kungfu, how can learn Kungfu well, how to be a man just like Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan and Jet Li!It's said that Gongfu. Hard work over time to accomplish skill. A painter can have gongfu. Or the butcher who cuts meat every day with such skill...his knife never touches bone. Learn the form, but seek the formless. Hear the soundless. Learn it all, then forget it all. Learn The Way, then find your own way. The musician can have gongfu. Or the poet who paints pictures with words and makes emperors weep. This, too, is gongfu. But do not name it, my friend, for it is like water. Nothing is softer than water...yet it can overcome rock. It does not fight. It flows around the opponent. Formless, nameles...the true master dwells within. Only you can free him. Come on, body! Many wellknown Kungfu masters will teach you form-form. Shaolin, Wudang, Taichi and many other linds of Kungfu. Anyone you like, just have a taste! Once chose, you will be a different person as before. Whoever you are, a painter, a butcher, a musician... To be YOU! Only $360 you can be YOU! Welcome to KUNGFU UNIVERSITY - Chinese Kung Fu Teaching,Taichi quan,Shaolin quan!
