Strawberry Fluff Salad

1 pint strawberries, hulled,washed, dried,and sliced
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 (16 ounce) container small curd cottage cheese
1 (3.4 oz)package strawberry gelatin(use powder only)
1 (8 ounce) container Cool Whip, thawed
1/2 cup chopped pecans(optional)
1/4 cup strawberries, hulled, washed,dried and sliced long ways for topping
1.In large bowl, add sugar,jello powder to cottage cheese and mix well.
2.Gently mix in sliced strawberries.
3.Fold in thawed Cool Whip, and pour in serving dish.
4.Top with strawberry halfs(cut long ways), cover, and refrigerate over night.
