It's close but I'd have to say Thanksgiving. Why? There are no strings attached - just a day for family and great food - how can you beat that? Christmas used to be my favorite, and it's still a VERY close second, but I love the 'purity' of Thanksgiving.
I guess the older you get the less you start thinking about Pilgrims, Indians, Santa and Presents and the more you start thinking about the people that matter most!
We don't celebrate Thanksgiving in Australia so I would have to say my favourite holiday is Boxing Day. That is the day after Christmas here. And the reason I like it is because Christmas is over so you can just relax and do nothing. A lot of Australians would also watch the Boxing Day cricket match on TV which is a bit of a tradition here.
Maybe because you put xmas gifts back in the box (boxing it up) and return it to the store because it doesn't fit, you already have it, you don't need it... etc...!!!
But really I have no clue because I'm from the USA
It's always neat to see other Holiday's around the world. I myself am a fan of many holidays...easter, christmas, thanksgiving...All of them have special meaning because of what they all stand for and what there true meaning is...I enjoy sharing that meaning with others that do not have anyone else to share that time with and taking time to help others in need. Where can you go wrong with that?
Good question. There are a lot of theories behind it. The holiday was traditionally a British holiday but since we were colonised by the British we took it on as our own.
Wikipedia has a list of all the different theories:
Thank you, Jenifari. I've had a lesson on the theories of "Boxing Day" Very interesting - I had never even heard of this holiday.
Is there a special meal prepared on this holiday?

No, not really. In Australia on Boxing Day people will either go to the post Christmas sales, watch the cricket on tv, have a barbecue or just do nothing and recover from Christmas Day.
I definitely would have to pick Christmas. Personally it's one of the few times of the year when the whole family can get together and just have a good time. Most of us have long vacations and breaks, so no one is thinking about work at all. The types of food we usually cook are my favorites and it's a lot like Thanksgiving to me. Except for Christmas we all cook like it's a holiday for a whole week before the 25th because it's 'the season' as opposed to Thanksgiving's one day blow-out.
