Ok, this project is pretty common and a lot of people have put their spin on it but I think it's a great way to bond with your kids and let them be creative at the same time (What's better than that?). So pretty much you purchase some candy (variety is a great thing, it helps if you can purchase it at a Winco like store where the candy comes in giant tubs and you can buy as much or little as you need). Licorice, jelly beans, chocolates you name if. If it has an odd shape or color pick some up. Next gather up your kids in the kitchen and have them help you bake cup cakes (They can do the mixing and help you crack eggs, the entertaining stuff

). Once they are done baking pop them out of the pan and set them out on the table along with some white frosting and food coloring. Have your kids decorate them into whatever they can imagine using the candy and colored frosting. Ladybugs, spiders, crabs, cats, anything. Hopefuly the kids will be more interested in helping since you're making something sweet as opposed to helping with a normal dinner.
Anyways that's about it. You can easily spend hours on a project like this and if you're lucky you might even get the kids to help clean up
