Here are some of our Food Network must-haves for setting up your kitchen. Before you go shopping, think about the kind of food you like to make. In general, you'll always be better off with multifunctional pieces than with ones that serve only one purpose.

When I moved last, I went through all my kitchen gadgets and odds and ends. If I had not used it within the last two years, it went into the yard sale pile. I was surprised about how much I had accumulated over the years that had rarely or never seen any use.

I am like many others I have bought many gadgets and have never used them. I find all you really need is the things you use everyday, like measureing cups baking and cooking pans.

I find I cannot have enough gadgets - or, rather, cooking utensils. It makes me smile when I'm preparing something special and find I have just the right gadget to make make my creation unique!! I don't consider myself a baker but I have many cake pans in various sizes and shapes than I care to admit to.

Speaking of gadgets, there are so many small appliances available, I just don't "get it" A hot dog cooker, s'mores grill, etc? Seriously, where do people get the room to store these? How often would anyone really use these items? I just wonder what the next craze will be!!

I personally like to keep my countertops uncluttered and improvise my gadgets. I can't tell you how many times I've used a wine bottle as a rolling pin and a heavy glass as a meat tenderizer!

I could never do without my kitchen shears. I really love em. They are the best thing I have bought for myself to cook with ,in quite sometime.

I have way too many kitchen gadgets. Probably 80% of them I hardly ever use.
