Which term do you use for yourself? Does any term have any bad connotations to you? Personally, as I'm obsessed with learning anything about food, I call myself a 'foodie'. ^^ How about the other board members?

I'd have to agree with the 'foodie' title. Couldn't call myself an epicure or gourmet. Just love food but I love eating it more than cooking it.

I'm a retired chef and I'm definitely a 'foodie' - the term 'gourmet' has always left a bad taste in my mouth, don't care for it at all.

Just some definitions from dictionary.com:

Gourmet - a connoisseur of fine food and drink.
Epicure - a person who cultivates a refined taste, esp. in food and wine; connoisseur.
Foodie - a person keenly interested in food, esp. in eating or cooking.

And also a definition of connoisseur:

Connoisseur - a person who is especially competent to pass critical judgments in an art, particularly one of the fine arts, or in matters of taste; a discerning judge of the best in any field.
