I deeply regret having to make this post and it pains me to do so... I've been getting a ton of emails asking why the site was either down or not accepting their login/password. I finally have an answer:

Apparently, the server this website is hosted on had a catastrophic hard disc error. I had weekly backups but they were corrupted and unable to be recovered. I changed servers in late Novemeber to accomodate the increased traffic of this site. What you are seeing is the forum BEFORE it was switched to a new server... this is the most recent backup of the old server.

That being said, we've lost a TON of great content, recipes and discussion and I'm sure a lot of our great ChefClub members are dissappointed. Trust me... I know how you feel. The last few days have been absolutely terrible for me and it's hard to watch your own boat sinking while you sit on the shore, unable to do a thing. Unfortunately, I was watching a couple dozen boats "sinking" at the same time. Either other websites of mine, websites of friends, websites of clients, etc.. were all hosted on this corrupted server. All of their data since November is gone as well.

It took 2 days to find the problem, fix the problem, get things restored to November form and I've been on the phone pretty much nonstop trying to do damage control. I'm sorry to say there is absolutely nothing we can do about all the content that was lost. I can only hope that we're able to rebuild this resource up to, and beyond, the incredible value it held only a few short days ago.

Over the next few days, among other things, I'll be putting in a iron-fist backup system so we'll never have to deal with something like this again. Hopefully, the hard lesson of organization and planning that I've learned will help some of you prepare for disasters in your own life, business, job, family, etc... BEFORE they happen.

Thank you again... for everyones previous contributions... and hopefully for your continued support!

No problem Rob. Things happen - that's how we learn. We can continue where we left off when you get the 'iron-fist back-up system installed. Looking forward to a brand new start!'

Ditto that - jmw!! I hope this set-back will not be too discouraging to you and the Chef Club staff, Rob. I thoroughly enjoy this site & will continue to visit & add recipes & share tips.

Hoping other members (old & new) will do the same.

Good Lord, don't worry. The computer gods are evil ~ I know -- Relax; hopefully you know this is a forum where people are pulling for you; happy to know you. Don't feel bad - it's not your fault (it's those evil computer gods.....) Have a better day, tomorrow. Donna from Maine (v5dmm)

Rob,
Bummer! I just joined today, but having gone through similar experiences more than once myself, I know what you are feeling. Maybe old members can resubmit their favorite recipes so that your data base can be rebuilt. It is a lot of work, but it is doable. Is there anything members can help you with, other than resubmitting their recipes? I am sure everyone here would be willing to pitch in and help somehow. Let me know if I can be of any help to you.
