Fascinating stuff! I actually want to do the fire with a can and chocolate! The moment I can I'll try this! About cutting the onion, is a trick I knew already and it works most of the time. I found that when it comes to a certain "organic" onions, there is no way of scaping crying like a maniac, because the substance that makes you cry is extremely strong!

Very interesting list. I cannot imagine trying to light a barbaque with liquid oxygen. Never would have thought of that one or a couple of the others listed. Thanks for the link.
